Was it the academy award winning song "When You Wish Upon a Star"? Or was it the character of Pinocchio, an innocent happy-go-lucky puppet with the simple wish to be a boy? Or is it the collection of amazingly diverse and lovable characters like Geppetto the toymaker? How can a character me made more lovable?Or is it the crafty fox and his hapless side kick, actors, what a delightful pair of low lifes, made lovable in contrast to the wickedness of both the pupeteer (Dear we say Gypsy?) or the trecheriously evil 'maker of mules'? What dangers lie in wait for the innocent wooden boy, and yet thanks to another remarkably likable hobo turned hero, Jiminy Cricket, good triumphs over evil. And what colassal adventures! Kidnapped and sold to a traveling show, seduced into a paradise of bad boy activities, that quickly turns into a slave factory of boys made into mules. And just when all seems almost right Geppetto has been swallowed by a whale, and again tragedy, Pinocchio drawns. ![]() Can you think of any other animated film in which even a goldfish and cat play important roles, interwoven into such a tightly coregraphed adventure? ![]() I have always loved the frisky tune sung by the crafty fox as they take Pinocchio away.
