Despite a cold, or because I can watch my body fighting it and winning much of the time, I feel very healthy. Not that my energy does not fade each and every day, but because of the higher awareness I have of my food has me feeling stronger and more confident.
The bread maker has been an enjoyable learning tool. Frequenting healthy whole food markets has also cheered me up and made me feel better about what I have been doing with my body, and the health of my children. The air filter, though more subtle, has allowed me to feel I am doing the best I can do, or at least better than before. Listening to Andrew Weil read his book on cassette in the car continues to bring the message of healthier living home. There is always much psychic damage from the news, and the general 'ware and tare' of living, and I worry that time is too short for all I have planned in life improvements, yet, all in all, I am happy to be trying.
The fact remains though, I am not losing weight. But feeling stronger, and starting to use food (salad, whole breads, and cheese) to increase my energy at work. I am reading Appleton's book 'Lick the Sugar Habit' and a dozen other books are waiting anxiously on the shelf above my bed. Exercise remains the next great adventure. My dietary goals and the relinquishment of my resistance to physical exertion are still waiting a frontal assault, but, meantime, feeling healthier has helped my general out look on many things.
